GRXpert is a software toolkit that allows for the migration of previously debugged, up and running, total in-circuit test programs to the GenRad GR228X/GR227X platforms. In conjunction with a test fixture hardware adapter, GRXpert can be used to migrate software and hardware (yes, your test fixture) to your new GenRad. Without the hardware adapter, GRXpert is an effective software tool for providing all the necessary input files to the GenRad APG process for the purpose of new test fixture and software generation. With the hardware adapter, GRXpert provides a complete hardware and software migration to your target GenRad test system.

The software has two operating modes:

• Straight Translation

  This mode, used in conjunction with a hardware adapter, provides a total translation of your foreign test program into the GenRad test language. Complete .TPG and .CKT files are created through the translator. Your existing foreign test fixture is placed on the hardware adapter.

• ATG Enhanced

  In this mode, a hardware adapter is not utilized. The foreign test program is input to the translator. The software translates in-circuit test device sequences, and creates a .CKT file to be used as input to the APG process. The translated device test patterns are used as support libraries files, for the development of a completely new GenRad test program, and test fixture.

The following foreign test systems are supported as input to the translator:

• Agilent 3065
• Schlumberger Series 30 (303, 303S, 323, 333)
• Marconi System 80
• Zehntel 1800
• ITA Scorpion

The following GenRad test system file formats are supported as output of the translator:

• GR228X - All Models
• GR227X - All Modes
